Monkey Room Information 2018/2019
Arrival/Dismissal School starts promptly at 8:47. All children line up at Hilton’s Front Entrance according to grade level. There are teachers and school safeties to assist in this process. All children walk to his/her classroom on their own. Don’t worry; there are many helpers in the hallways. At dismissal all children are walked to his/her bus, to Friendship Center, or to the Parent Pick-Up Room. If you have a change in your child’s dismissal procedure please send in a note pinned to your child that day and/or call the Hilton Office. Please have your child wear his/her nametag everyday until we get used to their daily dismissal routine.
Backpack Your child will need to bring a bag or backpack to school every day to carry home papers/projects from school. Please check the contents of this backpack daily! I will give each child a Friday Folder to keep any papers that we may have completed in school, as well as any important notes that come from the office or myself. This folder will come home on FRIDAY and needs to be sent back to school every MONDAY.
Donations The school purchases our school supplies, but if you would like to donate anything to the classroom, we would put it to good use. Please check my webpage for Donation suggestions. Thank You in advance!
Shoes Your child will also need to have sneakers or athletic shoes to wear on gym and music days. If your child does not know how to tie shoes, it would be helpful (but is not necessary) if he/she has Velcro shoes for gym and music.
Play Clothes Please dress your son/daughter in “play clothes.” We will get dirty! We will go outside daily as weather permits and will be painting, gluing, etc. Junior Kindergarten tends to be messy.
Extra Clothes Accidents happen; please supply an extra set of clothes, in a zip lock bag, that we can keep in your child’s locker. Thanks.
Snack Time We will be sharing a “Community Snack” daily. A schedule will be sent home each month, please check the schedule at the beginning of each month. Snack suggestions are available on my webpage. Please notify me of any food allergies.
Towel We will have “Quiet Time” daily. Please provide your child with a washable bath/beach towel to lie on during rest time. It will be stored in his/her locker and sent home weekly (on Friday) to be washed.
Lunch Sack Your child will have the option of daily Hot Lunch or bringing his or her own Cold Lunch. If choosing Cold Lunch, please send your child to school with a labeled Lunch Sack. If choosing Hot Lunch, please send in a check with your child to BAS Cafe. The cafeteria staff will directly deposit this into your child's lunch account.
Remind Please see enclosed directions regarding Remind. This is a new tool our class will be using. Please follow the specific directions so that you are connected to our classroom communications.
Volunteer Information District policy states that ALL volunteers must complete an online form to become part of our volunteer database. Please go to the BAS Website to fill out the online form. It only takes a few minutes!
